OCTOBER is here and Halloween is just around the corner.
The leaves are falling from the trees, the nights are getting darker, and it's fair to say that summer is truly over.
What better way to enjoy the spookiest time of the year than by scaring yourself silly with horror films?
Whilst they may not be for everyone, those who are brave enough might want to turn off all the lights and enjoy a horror movie to get into the Halloween spirit.
There are a whole host of horror flicks to enjoy, but we picked out some firm favourites which will truly frighten you.
We hope some of your favourites have made the list.

Nightmare on Elm Street
This 1984 horror classic introduced the sinister Freddy Krueger to our screens.
The story follows a group of teens who are terrorised by the evil Krueger when they fall asleep.
They try to do what they can to stay awake and more importantly stay alive.
Halloween 3: Season of the Witch
This little-known instalment of the popular horror franchise does not include the iconic Michael Myers.
It was the early 80s and for the third instalment of the beloved Halloween franchise it was decided that there would be a change of storytelling.
This movie followed Dr Daniel Challis as he investigates the wicked Silver Shamrock corporations who are distributing evil masks across the world.
Whilst it may not be the most popular in the series, it is well worth a watch. The ending is not to be missed.
Jeepers Creepers
This horror classic sees brother and sister Darry and Patricia traveling through the rural American countryside as they return home from spring break.
It is there that they encounter The Creeper who has awoken from its slumber to embark on a killing spree.
Child's Play
This was the first time that audiences would be introduced to Chucky, the possessed Good Guy doll who has terrorised our screens for decades.
Whilst he may appear to be just a doll, he is just as capable as any villain of wreaking carnage.
Trick 'r Treat
A modern take on anthology horror made famous by the cult classic Creepshow.
Viewers are taken through four terrifying tales all centred around the holiday of Halloween.
