A Halloween disco night is coming to Carlisle in the hopes of adding something fresh for the city.

Matt Green started Party Eh!, a brand that puts on clubnights and DJ events, and this will be his third Halloween event so far in the city.

This year, on October 26 in The Brickyard, he’s got the phenomenal Horsemeat Disco to perform, alongside other local acts, at a costume party night event.

“I’ve kind of DJ’d on and off for a few years and I wanted to put a night on, and we’ve been doing nights at The Brickyard for the past three years no,” Mr Green explained.

“We’re bringing different DJs to the city, more disco and house, and we're trying to get more older people to come down.”

Horsemeat Disco is an internationally renowned and touring DJ outfit that usually performs as a foursome, but this time one is performing.

They're based in London, and are known for their blend of classic disco, house, and electro music.

Formed in 2003 by James Hillard and Jim Stanton, the group originally focused on creating inclusive club nights for the LGBTQ+ community.

Over time, their events gained wider appeal, drawing a diverse audience with their eclectic music selections and energetic atmosphere and have become associated with a revival of disco culture.

The event will have a fancy dress competition with prizes for podium finishes, but this is optional.

The electronic music scene is ‘fairly buoyant’ in Carlisle, Mr Green said, citing the Box Arena for hosting several events, and regular gigs and younger DJs playing in bars.

However, with the scene being mainly focused on the tech house and hardstyle varieties, this night will focus on disco music, offering something a bit different and aimed at an older clientele.

The night kicks off at 9pm and continues till 3am.

Support comes from Matt Green, Dean Stalker, Johnny Thieves, Dead Horse and Carl Tait

A pre-party for the night will take place at Aretha’s on Warwick Road where you can buy a souvenir paper ticket for £15.
