THE opening date for Carlisle's newest city centre bar has been announced.

The Live Lounge will be opening at 15 Warwick Road, across from the Halston Hotel, on October 18, with everyone being invited to come visit.

Ben Read and Kelsey Little, who have previously brought Ballers and Truth nightclub to Carlisle, aim to bring a venue to the city centre that spotlights local talent and supports emerging musicians.

Speaking previously to the News & Star, Kelsey said: "We already have bars in the city which host live singers and musicians however, none really reflect nor shine a spotlight on the new and upcoming musicians and artists - those who are new to the industry trying to create a name for themselves.

"We want to give these kinds of musicians and performers a chance to shine and grow into what they desire to be as well as using our connections and contacts of current events performers and musicians, from our background in the industry, to create an all-round musical success," she said.

The bar is said to have adopted an industrial theme with elements of exposed brick and vintage furniture.

Everyone is being invited to head down to the new venue at 8.30pm on Friday, October 18, with the first night of live music being provided by Ryan Davidson.
