A potential Carlisle derby has been thrown up in the second round draw of the Fred Conway Cumberland Cup.
Carlisle United will take on Carlisle City if the Blues can get past Workington Juniors.
United’s home clash with the west Cumbrians is the last remaining first round tie to be played, with the tie scheduled for Wednesday, October 23 at Gillford Park, according to the Cumberland FA. The Blues have yet to confirm details for the fixture.
If the professional outfit get through it will be a home encounter for United with a City side managed by former Blues defender Dan Kirkup.
Holders Workington Reds, meanwhile, have a home tie against Whitehaven AFC in the second round.
Mark Fell’s Borough Park side booked their place in the second round of the county senior cup by defeating Mirehouse recently.
The second round draw was made by the Cumberland FA on Friday afternoon.
