PLANS for a new farm building in Burgh by Sands have been lodged with Cumberland Council's planning department.
It is for a site at an existing farm at Holmes Mill on the Holmes Mill Road leading to Old Sandsfield from The Beaumont To Burgh Road.
The applicant, Mr I Hodgson, is hoping to build the proposed agricultural building which is described as being of a standard design for agriculture.
It is proposed that it would measure 26.45 metres in length, by 15.27 metres wide and it would measure 4.75 metres to the eaves and 5.25 metres to the ridge.
And it is proposed that it would have concrete panel walls with tin above, which would be grey/green in colour, with a grey fibre cement roof.
The farm, which has been there for more than 100 years, covers a total area of 250 hectares.
The planning application is currently being considered by planning officers at the council.
