FOR this Nostalgia edition we wanted to take a look at the October half term.
This is the first half term of the academic year, giving pupils a break from their studies as the build up to Christmas begins.
Schools across England, Wales and Northern Ireland break up for a week's holiday.
Pupils often highly anticipate the half term holidays as a chance for a short break to spend more time with their friends and family.
There will be often be events held throughout the half term week to keep children entertained, allowing them to make the most of their time away from school.
Some of the things children and teenagers may do in their time off include going to the cinema, having fun with their friends, or going on a trip away with their family.
The October half term is usually held on the build up to Halloween, with many organisations holding themed parties and events for young people and children to enjoy.
Some children may also spend the week dressing up as a scary character and going trick or treating.
As you can see, the half term week in Cumbria is usually a joyous time as people gear up for the last few months of the year.
These photos show some of what children in Cumbria have been up to over the October half term week through the years. We hope that these pictures help to bring back some very fond memories for some of you.
