FOR this Nostalgia edition we wanted to take a look at Cumbria's love of theatre.
Theatre is a form of performing art that uses live performers, usually actors or actresses, to present experiences before a live audience on a stage.
The performers may communicate this experience to the audience through combinations of gesture, speech, song, music, and dance.
It is the oldest form of drama, though live theatre has now been joined by modern recorded forms.
Modern theatre includes performances of plays and musical theatre. The art forms of ballet and opera are also theatre and use many conventions such as acting, costumes and staging.
These photos show how Cumbrians have embraced their love of performing over the years. We hope that you enjoy these photos.
