The Liberal Democrats have selected their candidate for the upcoming Wetheral by-election.
The by-election in Wetheral has been called after previous councillor Geoff Mitchell decided to step down.
The Lib Dems have selected Sarah Wills as their candidate, the wife of current Cumberland Councillor, Chris Wills.
“I want to be a Cumberland Councillor to give people in this outlying area of Carlisle a significant voice in shaping and improving their own communities,” said Sarah.

A By-election has also been called in Keswick and Wetheral following Marcus Campbell-Savours' parliamentary election win for Labour in Penrith and the Solway.
The by-elections will be held on Thursday, October 17.
