Workington Reds striker Jamie Allen made his latest international appearance on Sunday.

The Borough Park forward came off the bench for Montserrat in their CONCACAF Nations League clash with Bonaire.

But Allen was unable to inspire a comeback as Lee Bowyer's side fell to a 1-0 defeat.

The Reds man was introduced from the bench in the 56th minute with Montserrat trailing at Ayrton Cicillia's first-half goal.

Allen was quickly into the action for the Emerald Boyz with a chance three minutes after coming on, but he headed the cross wide.

He got on the end of another delivery soon after but couldn't keep his finish down.

Montserrat applied plenty of pressure in the closing stages, with Colchester United forward Lyle Taylor and Walsall's ex-Carlisle United midfielder Brandon Comley also in the thick of the action.

But they could not find a way through.

The defeat came three days after Montserrat enjoyed a 1-0 win over the same opposition, with Allen an unused substitute on that occasion.

They now sit fourth in League B Group A, Allen now with 13 caps to his name. He qualifies for Montserrat through his grandmother.

The 29-year-old will now return to Workington, who in Allen's absence claimed a 2-1 win over Ilkeston Town in Saturday's latest Northern Premier League Premier Division clash.

Next for Mark Fell's side is a trip to Hyde United next Saturday.
