The latest weather maps for the UK suggest a national rise in temperatures as an Iberian plume approaches.

WXCHARTS' maps show a steady increase in UK temperatures over the weekend and into next week.

According to the Met Office, the coming days could see highs of 18C, with temperatures predicted to climb further as the month progresses.

After a chilly start to October, with today starting out at between 2C and 4C in Carlisle, many may welcome the forecast of warmer weather, despite the Met Office forecasting ‘unsettled conditions’ and a temperature drop the following week, while also forecasting a rise in temperatures this week.
