Discover the work of five local poets and authors at a book launch in Carlisle on Thursday.

Caldew Press will host the free event at Cakes and Ale in the city on October 17 from 7.30pm.

Local writers will perform readings from their collections which cover themes such as friendship, nature, mental health, conflict, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the world in which we live.

The authors who will share their work are Crysee Morrison and Hazel Stewart, Geoff Smith, Nick Robinson, Dr Richard Cook, and Citizen F.

Their books, published by Caldew Press, will be available to buy on the night with prices ranging from £5 to £15.
