A Carlisle care home is inviting people in the community to attend its monthly dementia café.

Lanercost House Care Home will hold the café on the first Wednesday of each month, starting November 6 from 10.30am to 12pm, and is for people who support others living with dementia.

During the meeting, attendees will have the chance to meet with the care home team to discuss any queries they may have about care.

The care home hopes that the café provides a 'small respite and social support' for those attending.

General manager Janette Lawrence said: "We’re really looking forward to making more friends in our local community.

"The condition itself can be quite lonely and frightening, and the more support we can provide to each other, the better.

"If anyone is unable to make it on the day but would like to pop in for a tour and a cup of tea, our doors are always open."

Lanercost House Care Home provides residential care, nursing care, and dementia care for 93 residents, ranging from respite care to long-term stays.
