Allerdale police were on patrol in Workington Town Centre yesterday, October 16 supporting a number of local shops for Safer Business action week.
Whilst out on patrol officers caught a man trying to steal some steaks from Marks and Spencer's - arresting him for theft and breach of a criminal behaviour order.
In a statement on social media, Allerdale police said: "We have a number of Officers in Workington Town Centre today, supporting our local shops and businesses for Safer Business action week.
"So it is probably the wrong time to breach your criminal behaviour order by trying to steal some steaks from Marks and Spencer.
