The Carlisle Creative, a business which connected makers with the community through its pop-up shops, has sadly decided to dissolve.

Local duo Hannah Pearson and Rebecca Dockerty have been running the pop-ups at the Intro unit on Paternoster Row since 2018 but their summer shop proved to be their last in the city.

There was a November pop-up scheduled, but they made the difficult decision not to run it, as they were both 'running on empty'.

In 2018, they organised their first pop-up shop, selling items from their own businesses. Hannah runs Bob Loves Landy, while Becca owns Maud and Evelyn.

But now, after nearly six years of hard work, they have confirmed with 'heavy hearts' that The Carlisle Creative is no more.

On social media, the duo wrote: "We have taken the summer to think long and hard about how we need our lives to look at this stage and it is with really heavy hearts that we announce that we will be dissolving The Carlisle Creative.

"We have loved so much of running our pop ups over the last five years, starting small and seeing them grow, the response and connections made and the family of makers that have grown around us. We would have loved to have explored where this would have taken us next but our personal lives need our focus more at the moment. We are immensely grateful to all the makers, customers and other businesses who have supported us throughout this journey.

"We respect and admire all the small businesses on the Carlisle High Street and are excited to see how it develops in the next few years with so many of you wonderful creatives taking a brave leap. We fully believe that there is a place for independent shops in this wonderful town."
