A men's clothes shop in Carlisle has thanked the support of the local community after marking five years of business earlier this month.

Goodfellows Menswear set up as an independent business back in 2019, having previously been part of Carol's Bridal Boutique on Warwick Road.

Goodfellows, which is also located on Warwick Road, sells and rents formal wear, suits and kilts for weddings and events.

Head stylist Lauren Roberts said: "It really is an amazing achievement, we’ve been through so much with navigating our business through Covid and we’re so happy to be out the other side and pushing forward to bigger and better things. We are so proud of everything that we have achieved in the last five years, we are growing every year and driving our business forward and we really believe this next year will be our best yet."

Naturally, the pandemic was an incredibly tough time for the business, as many weddings and big events were cancelled during lockdown. But Goodfellows came out stronger, and are now as busy as ever, thanks to the ongoing support of customers.

Lauren added: "It is so important we have the support of the community behind us as we wouldn’t be where we are today without them. We believe in building a relationship with our clients, to help each individual create the perfect look for their special occasion."

Lauren concluded: "We are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported them over the last five years on this journey and would like to thank their incredible team Liberty, Gail and Aaron for all their hard work during this time. We are all like one big family here and we can’t thank them enough."
