Roughly five kilos of cocaine with a street value estimated at £500,000 was seized from a car being driven on the M6 in Cumbria yesterday (October 16).
42-year-old Anthony Ali, of Fairfield Grove in Bradford, was driving the car – a white Volkswagen Golf.
He was charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine after a traffic stop at Junction 40 of the motorway, near Penrith, and is due to appear at South Cumbria Magistrates Court tomorrow (October 18).

A police spokesperson said the seizure forms part of Operation Alliance - their ongoing response to ‘protect the county against serious and organised crime’.
