INSPIRE Beauty Salon has been named News & Star 'Best Beauty Salon 2024'.

The salon, on Longtown's High Street, has been named the best beauty salon in the region by News & Star readers.

Ten local beauty salons were chosen by readers as finalists in the competition and were fiercely supported by fanatics across the two-week voting period.

However, after counting all the votes, Inspire has emerged victorious.

Hannah Roberston owns the Inn and was elated after learning that her salon, which she opened in 2011, had been chosen by News & Star readers as the 'Best Beauty Salon 2024'.

She said: "I am extremely honoured to be receiving such an important award as the top salon in North and West Cumbria.

"This is not the result of just my own effort and I would like to thank all my family, friends, and most importantly clients for sticking by me over all these years.

"I would also like to thank my loyal and hardworking salon team of Chole and Tabby, my landlords who have given me free rein to make the salon into what it is, and the nine other amazing salons that were nominated.

"Finally, I would like to dedicate this award to my dad. My best friend and biggest supporter who passed away on the same day I found out that I had won.

"I am completely overwhelmed but truly honoured and humbled."

Speaking previously, Hannah had expressed her love for the community that has developed around the salon in the year 13 years since she opened it following the birth of her eldest child.

She also detailed why she believes her salon has become a firm local favourite.

She said: "I think people love that we are real people, I am just a working mum at the end of the day. There are no airs and graces, our clients are our friends and they always receive a warm welcome.

"We are never judgemental and it is a really laid-back atmosphere as well as professional."
