CARLISLE'S HSBC on English Street, which has been temporarily closed since the beginning of October, is set to reopen on November 4.

It has been closed for internal work and the installation of new ATMs since October 3.

In the interim, HSBC has provided a temporary "pop-up" branch at Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery, which will operate until October 29.

The pop-up branch is open Monday to Friday, from 10am to 3pm.

HSBC has also been advising customers on alternative ways to manage their finances, such as using the Post Office or online services.

Included in the work are plans for new signage on the Grade II building, which was approved by Cumberland Council planners in August.

“We believe the proposed works will respect the building’s original features and will not have a negative impact on the building or the surrounding area," the planning statement read.
