The A595 was blocked in both directions on Friday afternoon due to a five vehicle road traffic collision between the A698 and Orton Grange roundabout.
The incident was called in at 3.13pm with no serious injuries reported by Cumbria Police.
A temporary road closure was put in place whilst recovery happened.
Cumbria Police was in attendance directing traffic.
