- Following a trial which began on October 1, the jury has returned verdicts on the defendants in the Paul Taylor murder trial in Carlisle
- Jack Ryan Crawley, 20, has been found guilty of murdering Annan man Paul Taylor on October 18 last year and the attempted murder of another man near York on January 5 this year.
- Marcus Goodfellow, the 20-year-old who had denied "assisting an offender", his co-defendant Crawley, has been found not guilty by the jury at the city's crown court.
