A WEST Cumbrian pub has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

The Miners Arms (Workington), a pub, at Guard Street, Workington was given the score after assessment on September 13, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

The hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling, and storage was found to be Good as was the management of food safety. 

The cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building  (including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities, and pest control) to enable good food hygiene were found to be Generally Satisfactory. 

It means that of Cumberland's 321 pubs, bars, and nightclubs with ratings, 251 (78%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
