Asda has launched a new range of mince pies for the festive season.

The new 'Exceptional' range features three new flavours, including Fig, Whisky and Spiced Honey, Toffee Apple Spiced Crumble, and Frangipane & Amaretto.

With 72 per cent of Brits saying that mince pies are an essential part of their Christmas celebrations, Asda has introduced these luxury flavours to appeal to both traditional and adventurous palates.

The Signature flavour for 2024, Fig, Whisky and Spiced Honey, is infused into the traditional treat in the Asda Exceptional range.

The all-butter shortcrust pastry is filled with a Scotch whisky-infused fig mincemeat, topped with an almond Florentine with chilli powder, spiced honey, and a sugar dusting.

Shoppers can also purchase the extra thick Exceptional Fig, Whisky, and Spiced Honey cream, a blend of British cream, figs, whisky, honey, and chilli spice.

For the 28 per cent of Brits who find mince pies non-essential to their festive season, Asda offers the Exceptional Toffee Apple Spiced Crumble Mince Pies.

These pies have a British toffee and apple filling, all-butter pastry, and are topped with a spiced pecan crumble.

The Exceptional Frangipane & Amaretto Mince Pies provide a boozy twist on a classic recipe, featuring amaretto-infused vine fruit and citrus peel mincemeat, all-butter frangipane, and flaked almonds.

All these new flavours are now available online and in-store.

The Exceptional mince pies are crafted by a family-run bakery in Lazonby, Cumbria.

Established in 1946, the bakery started as a small shop attached to the family home, and 78 years later, the family continues to live in Lazonby, maintaining the same passion for these festive treats.

Joining the new flavours are some returning favourites.

These include the Exceptional Brown Butter Flavour & Rum Mince Pies, filled with spiced vine fruit and citrus peel mincemeat laced with Jamaican rum.

The Exceptional Classic Mince Pie features an all-butter pastry with a mincemeat stuffing made with brandy, ruby port, cognac, and Valencian orange oil, topped with a sweet dusting.

For those who prefer a smaller treat, the Exceptional Luxury Mini Mince Pies offer a perfect on-the-go snack.

These options are part of the Asda Exceptional range, which aims to provide 'value and indulgence' to families during the festive season.

Asda's Bakery Mince Pies, priced at £1.50 for six, and The Free From Iced Mince Pies, with sultanas, raisins, and a touch of spices, are also back.

The OMV! Mince Pies, suitable for vegans, are back with their shortcrust pastry and mincemeat filling.

With nine varieties to choose from, Asda aims to cater to all taste preferences this festive season.

Mince pies have become a seasonal staple, with searches for the treats on Asda.com increasing by 115.8 per cent in just one week.

To purchase, shoppers can visit asda.com or their local Asda store.
