A CATHOLIC parish in West Cumbria is encouraging churchgoers to go to confession.
St Mary's and St Joseph's Parish in Cleator Moor and Frizington is encouraging churchgoers to go to confession more often.
There are several churches in the area where worshippers can go to confession, including a chapel in Whitehaven.
In a post on social media, St Mary's Church wrote: "How long is it since you last met the Lord in the sacrament of confession? A few weeks, months, years? The Church encourages us to go to confession at least once a year, but ideally once a month. Why not make time this weekend to return to this sacrament?
"Confessions are heard at St Mary's on Saturdays from 4:45 - 5:15pm, at St Joseph's on Wednesdays at 10.30am, also at the Quay Street chapel (next to Argos) in Whitehaven on Saturday mornings from 10.45 - 11.30."
