Cumbria Police have taken to the streets of Aspatria to see how fast drivers are going.
An officer was outside Richmond Hill School in Aspatria on Tuesday afternoon with a speed gun, recording how quickly drivers were going down the main road.
The fastest speed recorded by PCSO Nichol was 31mph on Queen Street which connects up to the A596.
These roads both have a speed limit of 30mph.
Allerdale Police are urging drivers to be mindful when passing the school to keep children safe.
They wrote on social media: "Please be mindful when driving past the school as it has a four way junction and we need to keep the school children their families and the crossing attendant safe."
