Three recycling centres will temporarily close for 'essential maintenance'.
Cumberland Council and Renewi Cumbria Ltd have announced the closure of the sites in Workington, Carlisle, and Wigton.
Clay Flatts Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) in Workington will close for a day to replace the site welfare cabin.
The site closure will run from 6pm on Monday, October 28, until 8am on Wednesday, October 30.
Residents are advised to either hold onto their waste or use the facilities at Maryport or Frizington HWRCs.
Waste permits issued for Clay Flatts will also be accepted at other HWRCs in the region.
Normal service will resume once the site reopens.
Meanwhile, Bousteads Grassing HWRC in Carlisle will be closed on Monday, November 4, and Tuesday, November 5, for resurfacing work on the ramp.
The site will close at 6pm on Sunday, November 3, and will reopen at 8am on Wednesday, November 6.
Residents are advised to hold onto their waste or visit alternative HWRCs at Brampton, Flusco (near Penrith), or Wigton.
All valid waste permits for Bousteads Grassing will be accepted at other HWRCs in the area.
Syke Park HWRC in Wigton will close on Thursday, November 7, for resurfacing work.
The site will close at 6pm on Tuesday, November 5, and reopen at 8am on Saturday, November 9.
Residents should use nearby facilities at Bousteads Grassing (Carlisle) or Maryport HWRCs.
Waste permits issued for Syke Park will be accepted at all other HWRCs in the area.
Cumberland Council will place signs in advance at each of the affected sites, and staff will provide further information to anyone visiting before the closures.
During the closures, the sites will not be staffed but will be inspected daily by Cumbria Waste Management Ltd, with Renewi Cumbria Ltd overseeing the maintenance work.
A spokesman for the council said: "The council thanks residents for their cooperation and understanding during these essential maintenance works and encourage residents to continue supporting the waste management efforts in their communities."
