TWO best friends will launch their beauty and wellness business from Carlisle next month after years spent dreaming of making it happen.
Luna Selene had been a pipe dream discussed by owners Anni Hamer and Katarzyna Wiśniewska for five years, until they finally found themselves in the perfect position to move forward and make it a reality.
They have combined Katarzyna's deep knowledge of skincare and wellbeing through her work as a beauty therapist and detox specialist with Anni's decades of experience in graphic and web design to create a brand that hopes to empower women.
"Five years ago we were speaking about this and we actually bought the domain a long long time ago, we said one day we're going to do this" said Katarzyna.
"When I came back from the cruise ship, we thought okay this is the time, we are ready, we have enough knowledge, we've studied enough, and we're ready to move on with this."
Anni and Katarzyna work with a manufacturer to ensure the products are environmentally friendly and cruelty-free which was important to them to create a brand that is holistic and inspired by nature.
They use clean and sustainable ingredients to help their customers "make an informed choice" about what they're putting on their skin.
Luna Selene will launch with four skincare products: the Lunar Radiance Citrus Toning Elixir, the Lacus Temporis Pro collage Serum, the Alpha Glow Botanical Cleansing Balm, and the Moonshadow Tattoo Balm.
Anni said: "We're a very small niche brand to start and we're very boutique, we have limited numbers, we're not selling hundreds and hundreds of thousands of products.
"We're just selling to free spirited women, so women into holistic and wellness because the whole point behind the brand really is to find beauty in everyday things."
Luna Selene will open its online doors to shoppers on November 29 and are offering the first 50 customers a special gift with their purchase.
It is based on Newtown Road Industrial Estate, however it is an online-only shop.
