A MAN was taken to hospital by rescue teams after suffering chest pains whilst walking in the Lake District.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team were called on October 22 at 5.14pm to a man who was suffering chest pains whilst walking between Glenridding and Pooley Bridge.
In a statement on social media, Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team said: "The team were contacted by North West Ambulance Service about a walker who had begun suffering chest pain whilst walking from Glenridding to Pooley Bridge.
"The team quickly mobilised to reach the casualty. The casualty’s partner who was concerned, had carried them 500 meters to the nearest house in Sandwick and waited for us to arrive.
"Once we located them, two of the team's carers started observations and treatment and then handed over to a team doctor.
"The doctor was happy that the casualty was stable enough to be transported to the local minor injuries’ unit at Penrith for further assessment.
"The ambulance service was busy and there would likely be a long wait, the casualty was taken to the hospital in a team vehicle."
