Workington Reds' hopes of an FA Trophy run were ended by Bamber Bridge at Borough Park.
Mark Fell's side went down to a 3-2 home defeat in the first round.
The damage was done in the first half as goals from Michael Potts and veteran former Carlisle United defender Simon Grand gave the visitors a 2-0 interval lead.
A Steven Rigg penalty pulled one back but Lucas Weaver restored Bamber Bridge's two-goal lead, before another Rigg penalty gave Reds late hope.
The Lancashire club held on to progress to Monday's second round draw, also collecting £3,000 prize money with Reds left with £775.
It was a third straight defeat for Workington following league setbacks against Hyde United and Stockton Town. Reds return to league action at home to Worksop Town next Saturday in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.
It was a good day for Cumbria's Northern League Division One clubs, meanwhile, with Carlisle City, Penrith and Kendal Town all picking up impressive wins.
Dan Kirkup's Carlisle City hit the goal trail as they thrashed Seaham Red Star 5-0 at Gillford Park.
Josh Simpson's early goal saw 14th-placed City 1-0 up at the break before second-half strikes from Jordan Irving, Ben McCarron and a Keighran Kerr double saw them to a comfortable win over their second-bottom visitors.
Darren Edmondson's Penrith, meanwhile, won 1-0 at Whitley Bay.
Connor Shields' second-half goal proved enough for the Bonny Blues, after Penrith keeper Aaran Taylor had saved a penalty from the hosts' Callum Larmouth.
Penrith overtook their hosts into 11th position.
Kendal Town, meanwhile, are fifth after a 4-0 win over Marske United, thanks to goals from Ryan Winder, James Bailey, Steven Yawson and Jordan Palmer.
Next for Carlisle City is a trip to Newcastle Blue Star on Tuesday, with Penrith at home to Shildon next weekend, while Kendal's next game sees them go to Whickham next Saturday.
