Teenage Carlisle boxer John Joe Carrigan will compete in the World Under-19 Championship quarter-finals on Monday.
The Border City Amateur Boxing Club star made it safely through his first-round contest in Colorado.
Carrigan, on Saturday, defeated Latvia's Arturs Vaisla.
England's 17-year-old Cumbrian won as the referee stopped the fight in the second round with Carrigan well on top.
He will now take on Italy's Christian Karol Harpula, who got past Japan's Kyasura Nakazaki.
Carrigan, from Todhills, is hoping to add a world title to the European and domestic belts he has already won.
Should he progress in Monday's last-eight bout he will go into Wednesday's semi-finals for a shot at a place in next Saturday's final in the prestigious competition in the USA.
