Police officers are investigating after a group of youths were seen throwing mud and other items at cars in the dark.
The issue was described as “shockingly immature and irresponsible” by local Copeland Police who also said it could cause an accident.
One youth was detained by police and taken home and others were also caught throwing items on CCTV.
Police have told parents it is their responsibility to know where their children are and what they are up to if their child is out over the weekend.

A spokesperson for Copeland Police said: “We have had repeat incidents of anti social behaviour, harassment and criminal damage over the last few weeks. I
“It is fair to say you wouldn’t like this done to yourself or your own properties so please advise your children. Suspects are being identified and action will be taken in due course.
“Officers will be patrolling these hot spot areas this weekend and be assured if your child is involved in any such behaviour, they will be dealt with robustly.
“We do not want our community to suffer as a result of poor behaviour”
