Chris McCausland, the blind stand-up comedian who has been capturing hearts every week on Strictly Come Dancing, will be coming to Carlisle.
The comedian and actor will be bringing his new show Yonks! to the Sands Centre on March 7, 2026.
The new tour date also follows news from Cumberland Council that major roof renovations at the Sands Centre are on track for completion by late spring 2025 following the venue's closure last year.
The works follow a change in guidance towards RAAC.
Internal improvements will then be finished over the summer, with a new full programme of events starting in autumn 2025.
The total cost of the work is reported to be £2.5 million, which the council says has been secured from within "existing council capital budgets."
As part of the Sands Centre's relaunch lineup, alongside McCausland’s show, comedians Dara Ó Briain and Rhod Gilbert are also confirmed to perform.
GLL, the company managing the venue, has stated that they are working to bring "large-scale shows, gigs, and events" to the Sands Centre starting in autumn next year.
Tickets for McCausland's tour are on sale now.
