LANERCOST CofE Primary School has held its 'heartwarming' harvest festival.

The school, located in the village near Brampton, celebrated its annual harvest festival at the end of October with an event at the Lanercost Priory.

The festival saw pupils present their learning about harvest traditions from both the UK and across the globe through songs, poems, and stories, in which they explored how different cultures celebrate the harvest season and embrace themes of thankfulness and community spirit.

The festival also saw Lancercost CofE Primary School support local efforts to support Carlisle Food Bank with the collection of non-perishable goods to support those in need.

Speaking after the event, headteacher Lexi Wilkinson said: "Our harvest festival is always a highlight of the year.

"It was wonderful to see the children so engaged in their learning and eager to share with the community.

"Their enthusiasm for helping others and understanding global harvest traditions was truly heartwarming.

"The school extends its sincere thanks to the local community for their continued support in making the event a meaningful and impactful celebration of generosity and togetherness."
