A play area in a Carlisle park has officially reopened after £67,000 works were completed.
The Parklands village play area in Garlands, just a few miles from Carlisle's centre, reopened its doors to the public on October 28 following a significant 'upgrade'.
Cumberland Council said: "Thanks to funding of approximately £67,000 from nearby development contributions (S106) the play area has been transformed with brand-new equipment and accessible rubber surfacing across the entire site.
"The revamped space now features new swings, a multi-play unit for all ages and abilities, a climbing trail, a wheelchair-accessible trampoline, spinners and springers too – all with new rubber surfacing. Special thanks to Wicksteed Leisure, Evans Agricultural Contractors Ltd and Dean Little for their work.
"Additionally, the upgrade of the games wall/kickaround area is nearly complete as well as some fencing adjustments and Spring grass seeding too.
"Come and explore this new accessible space for fun and play!"
