Cleator's Main Street has closed to all traffic as road improvement work continues.
The 10 weeks of roadwork is being carried out by Cumberland Council's contractor DSD Construction Limited and began on September 23.
During the current closure (which began on October 28), a footway will be provided for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists, while a marked diversion route will be in place for vehicles.
The council has confirmed that school buses will be permitted to pass through the road closures in the mornings and afternoons, and waste collections on affected routes will proceed as scheduled on the normal collection dates.
The road improvement work is part of a £14.3 million investment from the Government's Levelling Up Fund.
