The Cumbrian's quality proved too much for his opponent, and Carrigan now progresses to a semi-final contest against India's Sumit Sumit on Wednesday.
The Indian boxer booked his own last-four place by defeating America's Malachi Ross.
Should Carrigan get through his semi-final, he will compete in Saturday's final against either Gabriel Dias Dos Santos from Brazil or Australia's Diyanshu Redhu. He had previously defeated Latvia's Arturs Vaisla in the first round.
Carrigan, who is now guaranteed a medal, is aiming to add the world title to his large collection of domestic and European belts.
The boxer, from Todhills, is a two-time European champion at junior and youth level, while he is also a multiple national champion as well as winning a series of titles in box cups.
His string of national victories earned Carrigan a place in the England set-up, where he has also produced a host of victories.
He is believed to be the first amateur boxer from Cumbria to be competing on such a global stage.
The Under-19 World Boxing Championships at the Pueblo Convention Centre, Colorado are running from October 25 to November 5.
