The Cumberland Council Fireshow is set to return for its 35th year.
The event will take place at Carlisle's Bitts Park on Saturday, November 2, and will include a bonfire and more than 2,000 fireworks set to music.
Described as the biggest event in the region, the show is expected by Cumberland Council to attract more than 35,000 spectators.
The event will start at 6.30pm.
This year’s display is organised in conjunction with Merlin Fireworks Ltd, and for the first time, Taste Cumbria will bring its food and drink to the show as well, operating out of the Cathedral grounds on Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3.
Taste Cumbria will partner with Carlisle Farmers Market over the two days, with live music, hot food stalls, children’s activities, face painting, street theatre, and fire-themed entertainment all on offer.
Stalls are to open between 10am and 5pm on Saturday, and between 11am and 4pm on Sunday.
For those attending the Fireshow, there will also be food and family entertainment in Castle Car Park (which was formerly known as Devonshire Walk Car Park) between 5pm and 8.30pm on the Saturday.
Councillor Anne Quilter, Cumberland Council’s executive member for vibrant and healthy places, said: "This year’s event is set to be an event not to be missed.
"As well as a bonfire, there will be thousands of fireworks.
"There will also be a two-day Taste Cumbria event in the Cathedral grounds over the same weekend.
"The two events are joining forces to create one big blazing weekend of fun for all the family."
Although the event is free to attend, a charity collection is held each year.
This year, all donations go towards the Rotary in Carlisle (which donates most of its fundraising efforts to local good causes), to Pancreatic Cancer UK, and to Eden Valley Hospice.
No alcohol will be permitted on site or within the Fireshow Village in Castle Car Park.
The overall events programme has been supported by the UK Government using UKSPF funding.
The council has also announced a number of parking restrictions and road closures for the event.
While the majority of Cumberland Council car parks are available for use throughout the Saturday, customers are reminded to read the car park information boards or visit www.cumberland.gov.uk/parking for further information.
The following temporary traffic arrangements will be in place on the Saturday, throughout the day: no vehicle access to Bitts Park; no vehicle access to Dacre Road; first-come, first-served Blue Badge parking available at Castle Car Park (last entry at 5.45pm, and no leaving until 8.30pm); no parking in Bitts Park car park; no vehicle access to Bitts Park from Willowholme or the Sheepmount; and no access to the skate park, which will be closed for the day.
A special viewing area for people with disabilities, including wheelchair users, will be set aside on the Sheepmount Road, with a maximum of two carers allowed on the viewing area per individual.
After the event has ended, those wanting to walk to the west of the city will be filtered to the right of Devonshire Walk (towards Caldewgate and the pedestrian crossing opposite the former Globe public house), and those wanting to walk into the city centre will be filtered to the left and will then be able to access Castle Street across Castle Way (between the barriers opposite the Castle).
