A major international airline has announced a new twice-weekly route to a popular holiday destination this winter.
Ryanair has launched the twice-weekly route from Newcastle Airport to Marrakesh as part of its Winter 2024 schedule.
The airline is offering 13 routes from Newcastle this season, all of which are available to book now on its website.
Jade Kirwan, head of communications at Ryanair, said: “Ryanair is pleased to officially launch the first flight of our exciting new Newcastle to Marrakesh route.
"This new route will operate two times per week, offering our customers in the UK even more choice at the lowest fares when booking their Winter getaways.
It will 'drive valuable inbound tourism and business opportunities for the local Marrakesh economy whilst also providing connectivity for UK citizens and visitors at Europe’s lowest fares', she added.
Newcastle Airport’s chief operating officer, Richard Knight, added: “We are delighted Ryanair has expanded its route network from Newcastle with flights to Marrakesh.
"The new service not only provides the Northeast with an exciting new destination to explore this winter, but the twice-weekly flight pattern also gives passengers convenient seven, four or three-night getaway options.
"This new route complements the fantastic range of other destinations passengers can fly directly to with Ryanair, including Barcelona, Milan, Gran Canaria, and Alicante.”
