THE inquest into the death of a mum who was found dead by her daughter in the pub where she worked has been opened.
Judith Parker, 51, of Highfield Court, Wigton, was found to be not breathing in bed in the Beehive Inn in Eamont Bridge by her daughter Natasha.
Assistant Coroner for Cumbria Ms Margaret Taylor heard that Ms Parker, who was born in Carlisle, would normally open the pub but was still asleep at 8.30am.
In the brief hearing at Cockermouth Coroner’s Court, her daughter said she arrived at the pub at around 9.30am and went to check on Ms Parker at around 11am, and then again at 1.20pm, and found that she was not breathing.
She told Ms Taylor that her mother, who had been diagnosed with breast cancer, had undergone her first dose of radiotherapy the day before and had complained of a 'burning sensation' in her chest after.
Ms Taylor set a preliminary date for a full inquest of February 27, 2025, pending the completion of investigations into Ms Parker's death.
