TWO youths were seen running from the scene of a fire in Penrith.
Eden police officers were patrolling areas in Castletown when they came across a fire at 'the rec on October 31.
Two youths were seen running away from the fire, with two cannisters of de-icer found nearby.
The fire service was called, and the fire was extinguished, with police fearing the situation could have been much worse.
In a statement on social media, Eden police said: "Eden NPT CBO PC2317 Forster and SC7795 Hutt were patrolling hotspot areas for ASB on Castletown when they came across a fire at "the rec". 2 youths ran off on seeing the police van. The fire had 2 aerosol cannisters of de-icer either side of it.
"Fire service were called and extinguished the fire making the area safe for residents. This incident could have caused serious injury or damage had the aerosols exploded."
