POLICE have warned drivers to check their tyre condition, particularly when coming up to winter, after a crash in Langwathby.
Eden police were called to a crash in Langwathby on October 31 with several checks being conducted on the vehicle involved.
Following the checks, the driver was found to not have any valid insurance and the cord on both tyres was exposed, posing a 'significant risk' to other road users.
In a statement on social media, Eden police said: "PC 3365 McNamee and 3409 Costin from Penrith response team responded to a Road Traffic Collision this afternoon in Langwathby.
"As a result of this, a number of checks were conducted on the driver and his vehicle.
"As part of these checks, the driver was found to not have any valid insurance. Also, the cord on both front tyres were exposed which posed a significant risk to other road users.
"Please take this as a reminder to check your tyres before going on your travels, particularly when coming up to the winter period.
"This vehicle has now been seized by the police and the driver has been reported to court for these offences.
"Thankfully, no one was badly hurt."
