Teenage west Cumbrian karting star Jorge Edgar claimed victory at a major race in Spain.
The 14-year-old from Whitehaven won the Karting Sprint Junior category at the 2024 FIA Motorsport Games.
Edgar started in seventh on the packed grid at the Aspar Circuit.
He impressively worked his way past a number of more established names to win gold.
Edgar finished 0.998 seconds ahead of Turkey’s Iskender Zulfikari, with Spain’s Bosco Arias coming third.

The young Cumbrian later spoke of his pride at his performance.
“It was really good to win the first Team UK gold medal, especially as how good the drivers are here for Team UK, so it really means a lot to me to win the first gold medal,” Edgar said.
Jorge is part of a hugely successful karting family, with dad Jason a three-time British Open champion and uncle Justin and cousin Jonny also multiple winners.
The teenager’s performance in Valencia, meanwhile, saw him follow in the footsteps of sister, Jess, who competed in the 2018 FIA Motorsport Games.
The Karting Sprint Junior discipline saw 36 kart entries, in which competitors aged 11-14 got to grips with the FIA-supplied CIK homologated Kart Republic chassis, powered by IAME engines with MOJO tyres.
