A CARLISLE man has been arrested after allegedly racially abusing a Wigan Athletic footballer.
Police said a 37-year-old man from Carlisle was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order.
The arrest follows alleged racial abuse towards an away player during Carlisle United's 2-0 defeat at Brunton Park today.
He remains in police custody.
