A popular cafe has thanked the support of local customers after celebrating its second year in Carlisle city centre.
Bob & Berts, a national chain set up in Northern Ireland in 2013, opened its doors in Carlisle on October 21, 2022, and marked its two year anniversary last month with some rainbow cake.
Bob & Berts prides itself on offering what it calls ‘proper coffee’ and ‘great grub’, in the form of all day breakfasts, lunches, light bites, sweet treats, shakes, smoothies, and more.
There are currently just eight locations in England, including another in Kendal.
Tasha, who works at the Carlisle cafe, has suggested that the 'future is bright' for the city centre location, despite a lack of footfall through the centre in recent years.
She said: "The first year was especially busy and we loved it. Getting stuck in there and working hard to put us on the map. The second year albeit quieter than the first has been great getting to know people, customers and local businesses.
"The response has been amazing! We have built and are continuing to build relationships around us to help support each other.
"The future is bright for us at Bob & Berts. We will be updating menus, getting involved in some charity events and playing our part. We will also be making some updates to the service cycle with the aim of making it an even better place."
In a time where many businesses are struggling to stay afloat, Tasha feels that the staff's kindness and good service is vital in ensuring that customers come back.
She added: "I honestly believe people wouldn't come back if it wasn't for the team working here. They are all amazing and work so hard to make sure standards are met and all customers get what they need! We accommodate and listen to our customers and follow their lead really. With great food and coffee it makes it a lot easier to cater to a variety of people."
Tasha concluded: "We appreciate everyone so much, so thank you for the last two years. It wouldn't have been the same without you!"
