A new takeaway burger restaurant in Carlisle has been delighted with a busy few opening weeks since officially opening last month.
Biggies, a burger joint dedicated to the American rapper Biggie Smalls, opened its doors on Cecil Street on October 16, promising a 'notorious taste in every bite.'
Plans for the takeaway have been in the works for around 18 months, with owners delighted once they could finally open.
And things have proven to be exceptionally busy in the three weeks since then, with many coming along to enjoy the smash burgers, gourmet wings and loaded fries.
Biggies said: "It’s a bit of a passion project that started as a thought of 'we just want somewhere good to eat'. It’s taken longer than expected as we took great effort in sourcing our supplies and produce, whilst also looking for quality products and reputable partners."

A huge amount of work went into designing the initial menu, kitchen layout and testing, with 'each step bringing its own excitement' according to the owners, and it seems as if they have cooked up a successfulBiggies added: "To say we were excited to open after so long was probably an understatement. The opening day was great, things went smoothly but with the usual teething problems when opening a new business. The response from the local community has been really fantastic, certainly above our initial expectations."
The takeaway also went into more detail about what's on offer on their new menu.
They said: "Our main item at Biggies are the hand smashed fresh burgers served in toasted brioche buns with or without freshly cooked skin on fries . We also do a selection of southern fried chicken burgers all made fresh to order including a spicy dipped which is a favourite around the Manchester area, as well as a hot honey coated version. We also do a variety of chicken tenders and wings in different flavours such as Korean , Buffalo, Garlic Parmesan , as well as Loaded Dirty Fries."
The takeaway is currently open from Wednesday to Sunday from 5.30 until 10.30pm, but they hope to extend those opening times soon.
