A Carlisle clothes shop is set to reopen in a new location this week, having enjoyed success in their opening few months in the city.
The Closet on the Bank will henceforth be known as The Closet at Harker, after the owners snapped up a new space just a few miles north of Carlisle.
The shop, which first opened in August of this year, offers a unique blend of preloved, new, and ‘nearly new’ high-brand ladies' clothing and accessories as well as catering for special occasions from weddings to Christmas parties.
It aims to fill a gap on Carlisle’s high street while promoting sustainability by reducing waste.
Debbie Armstrong and Kath Paterson, brought the business to life in the summer, and they are now excited to be expanding to a new location just a few months on.
Posting on social media, The Closet at Harker said: "We are moving!
"A fantastic space has become available at Harker, in between Laing's Cafe and the Holistic Beauty Lounge so we've snapped it up and we open this coming Wednesday, November 6.
"We've loved being in Stanwix but this will be a much better trading position for us having free parking right outside plus it's bigger than The Closet on the Bank.
"We are now called The Closet at Harker. Anyone who has items for sale in our shop, need not worry, we will carefully transport and look after your items.
"The biggest problem we will have at Harker is keeping away from the lovely cakes! Hope to see you all soon."
Back in August, Debbie spoke to the News & Star about the business, and how it came about.
She said: "We can’t stand waste and to know that we can offer a service to the people of Carlisle where they can buy an item that was loved by someone else, but they never got the chance to wear it or wore it once, is the best feeling. We provide an honest, efficient, supportive, helpful and friendly environment for people, so that they feel as comfortable as possible. We don’t want anyone leaving our shop unhappy."
