EDEN Valley Hospice's 'Light up a Life Giving Tree' is set to be launched at The Lanes Shopping Centre in Carlisle.
The Christmas tree, which gives people the chance to remember lost loved ones and raises money for the local hospice, will be located in Central Square opposite Muffin Break in The Lanes from Saturday, November 16 until Thursday, December 21.
Visitors at the Carlisle shopping centre, in exchange for a donation to Eden Valley Hospice, will be able to write a message of remembrance on a paper bauble which will then be hung on the tree.
Susan Young, centre manager at The Lanes Shopping Centre said: "For many, the festive season is a time of joy, but for some, the loss of a loved one is felt more keenly at this time of year.
"We hope that people who are passing by will think of someone they miss and commemorate them in this special way."
Lorna de Mello Wright, relationship fundraiser at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw added: "We are so grateful that The Lanes Shopping Centre is supporting the hospice through the Light Up A Life Giving Tree this year.
"We hope that this special tree gives visitors time to remember those special to them during all the busy festivities, and by taking part you are also helping to provide vital care to local families in need this Christmas – thank you."
