A WEST Cumbrian fish and chip shop has been handed a new food hygiene rating.
Lee's, on Main Street, Cockermouth, was given a rating of 4 in its latest inspection on September 30.
The hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling, and storage was found to be Good.
The cleanliness and condition of facilities and buildings (including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities, and pest control) to enable good food hygiene were found to be Good.
The management of food safety was found to be Generally Satisfactory. This includes the systems or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff knows about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in the future.
