PLANS for two signs at a Carlisle care home have been approved by planners at Cumberland Council.
The application was for Kingston Court Care Home in Newtown Road and planning permission was granted on Monday (November 4) subject to conditions.
According to the decision and reasons report the site is situated south of The Cumberland Infirmary, next to the B5307 Newtown Road, and the application is for one freestanding totem sign within a grassed area between two existing trees, south east of the application site.
It states: "The second sign would be to the north of the site and would be a fascia sign attached to its eastern elevation.
"The wall mounted sign will have a linear light, 10 feet in length and approximately 100mm off the wall."
According to the report the proposed signage is of an appropriate scale and design to the existing building and built form of the surrounding area.
It adds: "The illuminated signage will contribute colour, interest and vitality to the site. It is therefore considered that the signage would not form a discordant feature within its immediate surroundings and would not have an
adverse impact on the character or appearance of the application site."
