A Freemasons lodge in West Cumbria has donated £300 to Blood Bikes Cumbria.
Members of Cockermouth's Skiddaw Masonic Lodge were visited by representatives from Blood Bikes Cumbria on Tuesday, November 5 where the donation was presented by WM Thomas Irving on behalf of the lodge.
At the event, the local charity and medical courier service which 'delivers essential blood, urgent medical supplies, free of charge and out of hours for the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.'
A spokesperson for Skiddaw Masonic Lodge, said: "Members of Cockermouth’s Skiddaw Lodge welcomed representatives from Blood Bikes Cumbria for an insightful talk.
"Speakers Alan, Graham, and Katrina shared details about the essential work Blood Bikes does to support local healthcare, including the transport of not only blood but other critical medical supplies.
"The Freemasons were moved by the dedication of the volunteers and, in appreciation, presented a donation of £300 to help support the cause.
"Skiddaw Lodge members expressed gratitude for the evening and admiration for Blood Bikes' vital contributions to the community."
