A HOSPITAL has received a donation for its Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit.
West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven has received a donation of £500.
The donation was given by former patient Howard Walker with the help of Workington Golf Club.
Howard had previously attended the cardiac rehabilitation programme.
He presented the donation for the Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit to Janice Starkey, Amy Glaister; cardiac rehab nurse specialists, and Veronica Awunyo, coronary care unit nurse.
Janice Starkey said: "The funds were raised as part of the Captain’s Charity at Workington Golf Club. A charity golf tournament was organised by Ken Cowman and the committee.
"The funds will be used to provide equipment for the programme which serves cardiac patients of west Cumbria and is greatly appreciated. We can’t thank them enough for their help and support."
